He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Brooks; his parents, Jimmie Sr. and Junior C.; his brothers, Booker T Dennis and Michael Brooks; his niece LaTisha Brooks; and his nephew Damon Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Sharnetta Spencer, Bryan Spencer, Diont'e Williams Sr., Jason Downing (Daysha) of Virginia and Glenn Spencer of Cincinnati; his siblings, Carl of Akron, Johnnie Brooks of Akron, Jimmie Brooks of Thailand, Carolyn Brooks (Reggie), Deidra Brooks and Viola Vaughn of Akron, Ohio.; his uncles, Edward Davis of Cleveland and Jimmy Hicks of Akron; and his nieces, Lajoy and Nicole Downing. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
