James A. Sumitra Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 16, 2023, James A. Sumitra (Akron, Ohio) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joshua Sumitra and Devika Sumitra; his son Joshua "J. J."; his grandparents, Nelson, Sumathi Clare, Doddanna and Daisy Sumitra; his aunts and uncles, Edwin Sumitra, David Sumitra, Paul Sumitra, Abraham Sumitra, Rathnakar Clare, Nareen Clare, D. W. Ruskin, Grace Paul and Bridgette Clare; and his cousin Andrew Clare (Shanon Hyde).
He is survived by: his wife Lindsey; his daughter Abigail; his parents-in-law, Mary Kanis (Louie Munoz) and Ted Kanis (Bev Sutak); his siblings-in-law, Kaitlyn Kanis (Brian Freday) and Brian Kanis; his niece Kaylee Williams; his nephew Lucas Williams; his cousin Grace Sumitra; and his close friends, Chad and Tara Halley. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and other cousins.
The family would especially like to thank everyone who has contributed to the gofundme and mealtrain accounts as well as the medical staff of the medical ICU floor at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unified Solutions Behavioral Support of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
