With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gwendolyn June Hamilton (Akron, Ohio), who passed away on January 18, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roosevelt McCormick and Bernice Annie McCormick; her grandmother Annie Marsh; her husband Gene (Gene); her stepmother Laura McCormick; her brother Rubin Hamilton (Louise); and her siblings-in-law, Charles Hamilton and Linda Faye Simpson.
She is survived by: her children, Gwen J. Simpson (Kevin) of Akron, Ohio, Gene, Jr. (Maretta) of Akron, Ohio, Dr. LaTaunya V. Conley of Elyria and Henrietta Woods (Calvin) of Russellville, Alabama; her sister Evelyn Wasson of Akron, Ohio; her siblings-in-law, Lillie Hamilton of Chesapeake, Virginia, Bennie Hamilton (Katie) of Cincinnati and James Hamilton of Seattle, Washington; her aunt Barbara Ann Clay of Akron, Ohio; and her friends, Evelyn Ann Voltz and Marsha Wilson. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
