With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David J. Schoonover (Akron, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 23, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Schoonover and Pauline Schoonover of Thomas; and his wife Marcia Schoonover (Rauch). He is survived by: his daughters, Lynn Kim (Bruce), Lorrie Shaffer (Steve), Vicki Hazelett (Ben), Paulie Heislman (Phil) and Renee Schoonover; his grandchildren, Buddy Kim (Lorie), Angela Batton, Matthew Shaffer, Michael Kim (Tiffany), Andrew Shaffer, Cody Heislman (Sydney) and Zachary Heislman; his great grandchildren, Kendra, Marissa, Ronnie, Michael, Maverick and Emeric; and his close friend June Stalnaker. He is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to the church in David's memory.
