He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schindler and Verna Schindler (Smith); his close friend Edith Schindler (Dunkle); his sons, Clayton B. Schindler Jr. and Darelle Collins; and his brother Hobart Eugene Schindler.
He is survived by: his children, Richard C., Sue Schindler, Debby and Tom Short; and his daughters-in-law, Jeannie Schindler and Leona Collins. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be sent to the Ohio Parkinson Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association.
