He is survived by: his children, Damon Smartt, Laura Smartt of Akron, Nina Smitherman (Smartt) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Amber Williams of Cleveland; and his grandchildren, Micah-Sean Simon, Ava, Alia Smitherman, Jason, Justin, Jarvis Duncan and Trayvon Williams. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
