It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol W Awender (Akron, Ohio), born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert Awender, MD; her daughter Mary Honeycutt; and her siblings, Lucy Bottoni, Gilbert Sutherland, Priscilla Boscoff and Sylvia Barry.
She is survived by: her children, Scott Awender, MD (Nancy Awender, MD), JD and Leslie Awender; her grandchildren, JD, Gabrielle Awender and Thomas Awender; and her siblings, Rosalie Stump and Warren Sutherland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Summit County Humane Society, Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary, or the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
