Aquilla Flinn Obituary
Aquilla received her wings and went home with the Lord Saturday February 10th, 2024.
A lifelong Ohio native, Aquilla was born in Elyria, Ohio to the late Louise Bryant and Reverand James Bryant, and raised in Akron Ohio.
She retired after more than 40 years of service at Summa Akron City Hospital. Aquilla was a woman of faith and was a member at Akron Apostolic Temple where she served in multiple capacities including the alter committee and women's prayer group. She had a beautiful voice and the church often called on her to sing a song on the Sunday service phone call. She also was known for being quite the spiffy dresser and even turned her own family's head as she would have hair makeup jewelry and clothes all together! And how about that family recipe for homemade yeast rolls?! We could count on her to make several dozen for Thanksgiving dinner.
Aquilla is preceded in death by her fraternal twin sister Priscilla Bryant, sister Sue Blaster, brothers Joel Bryant and Willie Bryant and daughter Joyce Flinn. She is survived by three children, Terry Bryant, Sharon Flinn and Regina Flinn-Beckles, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
