It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alois Chermak of Akron, Ohio, who passed away on February 5, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alois Chermak and Ethel Chermak of Akron; and his sister Ethel Lois. He is survived by: his sister Linda Marie Daugherty (Daniel); his wife Mary Katherine Chermak (Kap); his child Alois V. Jr. (Lori); his grandchildren, Alois V. III, Amanda, Ashley and Alexander; his daughter Amy Susan Broich (Eric); his grandchildren, Matthew (Holly) and Mya; his son Fredrick Samuel Chermak (Sarah); his grandchildren, Fredrick Jacob, Catherine, Helen, Teresa, Thomas and Louis; his son Andrew (Randie); his grandsons, Henry and Benjamin; his daughter Judith Josephine Whitney (Tyler); and his grandchildren, Liam and Charlie.
In 2011 Lou and Kap were inducted into the American Bop Association Hall of Fame because of their many contributions to the club and the dance community.
