He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Rome Gard, Sr. and Jennie E. Helenthal Rose; his stepparents, Emily Longstreth Gard and Carl Rose; his brother Lee Rome Buck Gard, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, William Wolfe, Jim Rogers, Betty and Dee Grotegeer.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Annette Grotegeer Gard; his children, Adam Gard (Chris Luster), Aaron Gard (Heidi), Andrea Gard (Joe Phalen) and Ashlei Gard (Austin Dearinger); his grandchildren, James, Tylor, Trenton, Josie, Leo and Rome; his siblings, Hazel Marie Gard Ritchie (Ron), Juanita King, Virginia Wolfe, Margaret Gard and Roger Gard (Sue); and his siblings-in-law, John, Robert "Shag", Randy Grotegeer (Valli) and Dedra Rogers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
