He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Bays and Angie Bays (Manual); his wife Jolene "Jodi" West; his granddaughter Brianna Bays; and his siblings, Don Bays, Gary Bays, Vern Bays, Ricky Bays, Doug Bays, Juanita Spradlin, Sara Shaheen, Ethel Spears and Phyllis Wyatt.
He is survived by: his children, Carole Dawson (Matt) of Kenton, Robert Bays of Forest and Brian Bays (Holly) of Kenton; his sisters, Bonnie Mulkey (Earl) of Banner, KY and Freida Calton of Fayetteville, NC; his grandchildren, Carter Bays, Makenzie Bays, Brayden Bays, Brooklynn Bays, Kami Bays, JoLee Dawson and Collin Dawson; his great grandchildren, Maycee Layne and Mickey Frances; and his siblings-in-law, Craig West (Starla) of Kenton and Debbie West of Kenton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family or Amvets Post 1994.
