He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Joyce Schooley, James Helf and RoseAnn Wallace. He is survived by: his parents, Andrew Rettig and Laura Helf; his siblings, Wyatt and Samantha; and his grandparents, John and Kay Rettig.

Memorial contributions may be made to his mother, Laura Helf, for a scholarship in Garrett's name.
