He was predeceased by: his grandchild Elliot Ley; and his siblings, Robert Preston, Irvin Preston, Bernard Preston, Helen Hensel and Geraldine Kahler.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Gardner; his children, Don Michael Preston (Twyla) of Lincoln, AL, Mark Preston of Ada, Aaron Preston (Kay) of Huntsville, John Preston (Christa) of Ada, Karen Ley (Greg) of Cambridge and Lynn Manley (Mike) of Huntsville; his sisters, Marva Lou Hooper (Bob) and Saundra Newfer (Rodger); and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Preston, Mary Preston, Carol Ann Cummins and Wilma Haven. He is also survived by his 22 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
