He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Stamper and Vera Stamper (Reed); his sister Thelma Jones; and his nephews, Ricky and Dennis Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Ada Jamison; his children, Deana Cross (Russell) of Winchester, Diana Maxwell (Lofty) of Seaman, Ohio and Troy Stamper (Shay) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his siblings, Robert Stamper (Debbie) of Florida, Terry Stamper (Alice), Roger Stamper of Blue Creek, Ohio and Sharon Smith of Florida. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
