She was predeceased by: her parents, James S. Schmidt and Nellie [Manahan] Schmidt; and her brother James. She is survived by: her husband Lewis J. Cabello; her children, Lewis J. Cabello, II, James F. Cabello (Maria) and Christina M. Johnston (Shaun); her grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Joshua, Chiara and Francesco; and her siblings, Beth Cushing (Kim), Gary and Gail Schmidt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
