With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard J. Zapp of Yorktown Heights, New York, born in Yonkers, New York, who passed away on January 24, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Zapp and Beatrice Zapp (Kellman); his wife Beryl Paddock (Paddock) of Yorktown Heights; his children, Robin Veitinger (Fred), Dawn Gayer (Lee) and Richard Zapp, Jr. (Anabel); and his grandchildren, Amanda Gayer, Dana and Eric Veitinger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National WWII Glider Pilots Committee, Silent Wings Museum Foundation.
