He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis McGowan and Margaret McGowan (DeBoer); and his siblings, Francis, John, Michael, Barbara Garcia and Mary Garcia.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Cimadomo; his children, James Jr. (Patricia) of Mahopac, Kelly Ann McGowan Mascetti (Tom) of Long Beach, NY and Lori Sheldon (James) of Ft. Montgomery, NY; his brother Terrence of East Islip, NY; and his grandchildren, Caitlyn (John), James, Chelsea, Nicole, Taylar, Michael and Mallory.
