He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Eitzer and Pauline Eitzer; his daughter Diane Eitzer; and his brothers, Ronnie (Daryl) and Walter (Amy).

He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Edward Eitzer (Maryann), Brian Eitzer (Elizabeth) and Julie Goetz (Harold); and his grandchildren, Andrew (Bailee), Steven, Chloe, Matthew, Arlo and Sam.

“In February, 1963 I walked into a classroom on the north campus of CCNY to begin my very first EE course. It was EE104. The subject was Electrical Circuits and the Professor introduced himself as Demos Eitzer. Right off the bat, he relaxed the class with his easy-going manner as he began to guide us through the sequence of topics covered in the syllabus. It remains to this day my favorite course and I think of Professor Eitzer often when I tutor students taking the course 60 years after I did.”
