He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Charlotte Wilheminia and Joseph William Nason of Springville, NY.; his wife Rosemary "Rose" Smithmeyer; his children, Gerald, Jr., Daniel J., Loralee, William J. (Christine), Steven E. Nason (Cathie) and Deborah A. Cranata (William); his sisters, Elizabeth Milks (late Joseph) and Joann Smith (late Robert); his brother-in-law John Smithmeyer; his granddaughter Melissa Rose; and his brother-in-law Joseph Smithmeyer. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Cardiac ICU of Mercy Hospital of South Buffalo.
