Mary Garcia Obituary

Mary Garcia was born and raised in Yonkers, New York passed away on October 19, 2010 after a battle with lung cancer. She was 67 years young. Beloved wife of Felix Garcia, cherished mother of Felix Garcia, Jr., Elena (LeeLee) Irizarry and Jose (Tony) Garcia. Adored by her grandchildren, Natalie (Christine) Garcia, Crissy Irizarry, Cindy Irizarry, Luis Irizarry, Jr., Tony Garcia, Troy Garcia, True Garcia and her great grandchildren, Alexa, Christopher, Madeline and Lia.

Loving sister to Lillian DelBene, Anne Felix & Dale Shea. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived her entire life in Yonkers, where for years she touched the lives of everyone around her. Her desire was to make all who knew her feel all the love and kindness she had to share and bring a smile to their face.

She loved being around family and friends. Anyone who knew her would never deny the great big heart she wore on her sleeve. She was smart, cheerful, lighthearted, caring, and fun to name a few. She was truly one of a kind, and very much irreplaceable. Mary was diagnosed with Lung cancer in March of last year. She went through many successful radiation treatments which gave her hope to keep fighting.

She showed strength and grace throughout her entire time here on this earth. Anyone who knew her would agree that she was a beautiful person who poured out her heart every single day, and will be greatly missed. Visitation at FLYNN MEMORIAL HOME Inc. (325 South Broadway) Friday, October 22, 2010 from 6pm-9pm and Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 2pm to 5pm.
