He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis; his son Matthew Tischler; his parents, Harriet Tischler and Abraham Tischler; and his sister Marianne Baker.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Tischler Hastie (Scot Hastie) of Bearsville, N. Y., Dr. Michael Tischler (Jan) of West Hurley, N. Y. and Eric Tischler (Kristen) of Kingston, N. Y.; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Cassandra, Natalie, Aryanna, Gianna, Kyler and Cooper.
