She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred Bischoff and George Bischoff. She is survived by: her husband Frank Giersch; her son-in-law Wyatt Jenkins of Woodstock; and her brothers, Gary, Douglas and Roger Bischoff. She is also survived by brothers, sisters.

Karen discovered her love for the concertina during her COVID-19 isolation.
