He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sampson and Edith Heck Sampson; and his brother Kevin Sampson. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hedges Sampson; his children, Michelle Sampson of Red Creek and Mark Sampson Jr. of Wolcott; his siblings, Terry Sampson (Charlene) of Savanah, David Sampson, Debbie German, Roxanne Young, Mary Sampson and Lora Snyder; and his granddaughter Carlene Weeks.
