The passing of Rayona Thompson of Winthrop, New York, born in Massena, New York leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on November 1, 2024 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Eldridge and Eleanor Eldridge (White); her son-in-law Matt Nezezon; and her siblings, Donald, Raymond, Franklin, Galon, June Furnace, Jane Crump and AnnaMae Gray.

She is survived by: her children, Leo Thompson, Tammy Wilson, Ogdensburg, Craig Thompson of Massena, Beth Nezezon of Brasher Falls, Patrick and Kim Thompson of Massena; her grandchildren, Kyle Shampine, Ella Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, Logan Wilson and Sadie Wilson-Brown (Hazelee Wilson); her great grandchildren, Claire Nezezon, Remington, Ryder Shampine and Lennon Shampine; and her sister Marilyn O'Brien of Massena. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hammill Funeral Home (653 NY-11C, Winthrop, NY 13697). A Mass was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Patrick Church (836 NY-11C, Brasher, NY 13613).

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Tri Town Rescue Squad, PO Box 238, Brasher Falls, NY 13613.
