He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Eleanor Derrick (Dodd); and his children, Kenneth Derrick (Cindy), Jerry Derrick (Tammy), Lori Houghtaling (Kevin), Paul Derrick (Dana), Kathy Gardiner, Steve Derrick and Lisa Anderson (Scott). He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
