He was predeceased by: his father-in-law John Remancus; and his daughter Kristina Knox. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Lucille Smith (Remancus); his sons, Joseph Smart of Willsboro, Jonathan Paradis, Jon Steeves (Julie) and Eric Steeves (Sophia); his sister-in-law Christine (Hitoshi Okano); his son Travis McDougal; his grandsons, Justin and Logan; and his caregiver Martha Joslin. He is also survived by 11 grand children; many great-grandchildren.
