He was predeceased by: his wife Florence "Flo" Benson; his friend Rena Joseph; and his daughter Susan Teufel (James). He is survived by: his daughter Linda Taylor (Richard); his grandchildren, Michelle (Tyler), Michael (Kristen), Brenda, Brian (Tommie Jo) and Bethany (Aaron); and his brother Jeffrey Benson (Sandy Lindstedt). He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers; also survived by special nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
