He was predeceased by: his close friend Geraldine Snyder; his son Michael Snyder (Linda); and his brother John Graupman. He is survived by: his children, James Snyder, Patty Fickelscherer (Paul), David Snyder and Tammy Wilhelm (Joseph Wrona). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Niagara Frontier Hospice Foundation.
