She was predeceased by: her mother Lena Yaw; her daughter Diana Lynn Coutin; and her husband Francis "Bud" Backner. She is survived by: her children, Barbara Seely (Roger) of Ithaca, Francis H. "Skip" Backner (Joanna) of Ruskin, FL and Rory Backner (Sandra) of Groton; and her sister Alice Thayer of Ithaca. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
