He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Apel and Minnie Apel (Marron). He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Barnes; his children, Susan Van Hoven (Harvey), Janet Apel (David Lennon), Jim Apel, Jeffrey and Janel Apel; and his grandchildren, Martha Van Hoven, Brian, Ruben Van Hoven, Rebecca, Taylor Briggs, Christopher Briggs, Brittany, Frank Crouse, Kayla, David Harvey and Jennifer Apel. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
