He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert C. Gibbons and Mildred Strain Gibbons; his brother Gerald Gibbons; and his brothers-in-law, George Johnston and Donald Brady.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara McCoy; his children, Susan G. Peterson of Cumberland, RI, Karen Tatro (Randall) of Shrewsbury, MA and Russell Gibbons (Amanda) of Granger, IN; his siblings-in-law, Irene Johnston, Carol Brady, Betty Shamblin and Neil McCoy (Marie); and his grandchildren, Jacqueline Tatro, Brian Tatro, Kyle Gibbons (Shirley) and Brett Gibbons. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the Ernestine Raclin House Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka, IN and suggests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice be considered.
