She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Legree and Elizabeth Legree; her siblings, Rev. Francis Legree (Carrie), Harry Legree (Carolyn) and Jannie Wright; her nephew Gerald Dennis; and her niece Nina Nelson.
She is survived by: her sons, John Goodwin Jr. (Geanine) of Bogota, NJ. and Jason Goodwin of Hackensack, NJ.; her grandsons, Jalen Isaiah Goodwin, Josiah Langston Goodwin and Jackson Lawrence Goodwin; the father of her children John L. Goodwin Sr. of Orangeburg, S. C.; her siblings, Rose Whitfield (George) of White Plains, N. Y., Mary Dennis (late Lamarr) of Teaneck, N. J., Dr. Jonathan Glen (Marilyn) of Savannah, GA., Corine Jefferson of Bronx, N. Y., Annie Bell Brown (late Roy) of St. Helena Island, S. C. and Delores Gaskins of Columbia, S. C.; her cousin Jessie Holmes (S. C.); her sisters-in-law, Audrey Simmons of Stamford, CT., Charlene Bennett of Stamford, CT., Pansy Ross of Ansonia, CT. and Debra Ross of Norwalk, CT.; and her friends, Jacqueline Wright-Luke, Eva Alexander and Esther Vann. She is also survived by nieces & nephews.
Viewing was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (31 Manhattan Ave, White Plains, NY 10607). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Ferncliff Cemetery (280 Secor Rd, Hartsdale, NY 10530).
