He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hagop Sakalian and Elmas Sakalian; his sibling Avadis; his close friend Tommy; his wife Margie; his daughters, Ellen and Susan; his granddaughters, Maggie and Gabby; and his brother Arvidis.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home (1121 Morris Park Ave, Bronx, NY 10461). A Mass was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Gregory the Enlightener Armenian Church (1131 North St, White Plains, NY 10605).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Gregory the Enlightener Armenian Church, 1131 North Street, White Plains, New York or Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, New York- organizations close to John's heart.
