Edward A. Capece Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Edward Anthony Capece announces his passing on May 22, 2023. Ed (Eddie) will be lovingly remembered by his wife Michele (Fraine) and his children Nicholas, Matthew and Danielle. He will also be deeply missed by his sister Mary Ann, brother Anthony, uncle John and wife Carol, sisters-in-law Renee and Carla, brother-in-law Bill, nieces and nephews – Gina, Anthony, Emily, Sally, Billy and Jack and his mother-in-law Francesca. His well-known sense of humor and gift of gab will be cherished by their extended family including numerous cousins. Ed was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Patricia (Kelly).

Ed was born on August 9, 1958 in Yonkers, NY and resided in White Plains, NY with his family for many years before meeting Michele and moving to Norwalk.

Ed spent over 25 years working in the HVAC industry as a Sales Representative selling home heating oil, parts & equipment. More recently he switched careers to work at a local Hospital/Rehab facility in the kitchen. He loved working in the kitchen and was a wonderful cook. He especially loved Italian food and replicating family recipes from his Dad and from Michele's family. "Gravy Day" was a big deal in the Capece household and everyone pitched in and shared in a lovely feast.

Ed was known as a very talented "handy-man" and spent numerous hours tinkering - fixing things, working on various home projects and most importantly, teaching his children his skills. Each of his children are uniquely talented and inherited or learned various skillsets that will serve them well in the future. His children were the light of his life – he was so proud of all of them and was constantly amazed by their wit, creativity and general good natures. He was "good people", and his children will carry that legacy forward.

Ed's courageous and brutal three-year battle with prostate cancer did not diminish the light within him. His optimism and devilish sense of humor were a great testament to his strength of character. His wise cracks to his care team were particularly enjoyable.

The family wishes to extend special thanks and appreciation to the Physicians and Staff Norwalk Hospital (Cancer Center & 9 West team), Yale New Haven Hospital, Norwalk Emergency Responders and RVNA for their compassionate care (special thanks to Nurse Teresa).

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, from 10am to 12pm at the Magner Funeral Home 12 Mott Ave. Norwalk. There will be a prayer service and family remembrances starting at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ed's name to Stand Up To Cancer at: https://standuptocancer.donorsupport.co [standuptocancer.donorsupport.co].
