He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Cross and Louisa Cross (Olin); his siblings, John Cross, Dorothy and Ellen Dickie; his grandchildren, Tom Cross, David Groben and Michelle Gwozdz; his great grandchild Averie Bohmer; and his son-in-law Robert Morrissey.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Johnson; and his children, Anita Greene (Richard), Christine Morrissey, Linda Grogan (Richard), Priscilla Hanselman (Michael), Jean Bohmer, Margaret Groben (David), Merton Cross Jr. (Sheryl), Thomas Cross (Linda), Keith Cross (Kelly) and Wayne Cross (Karen). He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
