He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Arthur Lain Jr. and Sara Taylor Lain; his son Lester T. Lain II; his former wife Elsie "Lee" Trede Lain; his wife Alice Cocalas Lain; and his siblings, Martha Lain, Frank, Richard, Milton Arthur, Lewis, David and Alden.
He is survived by: his children, Sally Roe (Tom) of Canton, PA, Lewis Lain (Jean) of Westtown, Carol Bulaga (Raymond) of Richmond, VT, James Lain (Mary) of Westtown, Jakob Lain (Kim) of Santa Fe, NM and Ellen Lain of Florida, NY; his grandchildren, Thomas Roe (Brooke), Eric Kenney (Gabriella), Ian Kenney, Sonia Oren (Jared), Jimm Spannagel (Katie), Sara Billings (Ross), Jacob Bulaga (Becky), Brett Gurda (Colleen), Brandon Gurda (Kelsey), Joshua Lain and José Lain-Straus; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Emmie, Malachi, Evangeline, Caleb, Clara, Ruby, Sophie and Brayden; and his brothers, Charles Lain of Venice, FL and Terry Lain of Orange Park, FL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Through the efforts of this group, Lester helped to protect thousands of acres of land in Orange County through the negotiation of conservation agreements with private land owners, property donations, and the acquisition of private property.
