He was predeceased by: his parents, William Richards and Thelma Richards (Lewis) of Vernon Center, NY.; his former wife Lilly Richards; his brother William (Bill); his sister-in-law Florence Richards (Vernon); his sister Betty Craig (Jack Craig); and his brother-in-law Romey Eisenhut.
He is survived by: his children, Ernest Richards of Utica, NY, Fred (Joan Richards), Susan Richards (Larry Lelievre), Kenneth Richards, Teri Hight and Patty Richards (Ingrid); his children-in-law, Jeff Clark and Verneil Johnson; his grandchildren, Nicole (Shawn), Elisha (Charlie), Andy, Carolyn, Roy, Dana, Keith (Erin), Travis, Elyce, Amanda (Josh), Mikala, Kyle and Kaitlin; his great grandchildren, Kyle, Connor, Alice, Adaline, Travis, Abigail, Ava, Nina, Mica, Annabella, Liam of Lucas, RJ and Charlotte; his brother Ralph Richards; and his siblings-in-law, Walter Eisenhut (Joan) and Ann Eisenhut. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service (35 College St, Clinton, NY 13323). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stanwix Heights Vol Fire Dept (6580 Bartlett Rd, Rome, NY 13440).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory, to the Utica Rescue Mission.
