She was predeceased by: her husband William C. Swanson; her parents, Charles Carlson and Anna Gould Carlson Robbins; her siblings, Evelyn Horn and Clifford Carlson; and her stepfather Lewis Robbins.
She is survived by: her children, Sue Johnson (Bob) of Erie and Mark Swanson (Betsy) of Mayville; her grandsons, Ryan Johnson (Farzanah), Kevin Johnson (Emily), Jeff Swanson and Scott Swanson (Lindsay); and her great grandchildren, Claire and Charlotte Johnson.
