He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ahrendt and Matilda Ahrendt (Clark); his siblings, Charles Ahrendt, Barbara and Virginia Ahrendt; his aunt Evelyn Miller; and his cousin Alice Beckman.

He is survived by: John W. Beckman.
