He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart Thorpe and Mabel Carey Thorpe; his former wife Bertha N. Warner Thorpe; his wife Elizabeth Baker Thorpe; his siblings, Grace Sissem, John Thorpe and Stewart Thorpe; and his great grandchildren, Brandon Thorpe and Damon Marinoff.
He is survived by: his sons, Thomas Thorpe (Christina) of Westfield, NY and James Thorpe (Cheryl) of Ripley, NY; and his grandchildren, Josie Walters (Dan), Brittany Chase (John), Dustin Carris, Billie Wright, Bobbie Wright, Curtis Thorpe, Ken Thorpe and Keith Thorpe. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
