He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Quinby; and his sister Ann Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Frances Mulford; his children, William Mulford II and Jenine Mulford Bivona; his son-in-law Anthony Bivona; and his granddaughters, Raquel and Jocelyn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society or Good Shepherd Hospice's Center at Rockville Centre.
