She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent Avery and Gertrude Snyder Avery. She is survived by: her husband George; her sons, Brian Burns (Christina) of West Shokan and George Burns (Tammy) of West Shokan; her brother Harley Avery of Glenford; and her grandson Sean.

The family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Hudson Valley Hospice.
