He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Esther Starkey (Gehen); his parents, Thomas Starkey and Anna Marie Starkey (Hess); his brother James Starkey; and his brother-in-law James Gehen (late Eileen).

He is survived by: his children, Esther Molinaro (Tony), Teresa Mesi (Steven), Thomas Starkey (Laura) and James Starkey (Janelle); his grandchildren, Kylie (Shane), Anthony (Sarah), Matthew, Thomas, Shawn, Alyssa, Jackson, Nathan, Conor and Elise; his great grandchild Milo; his siblings, John Starkey (Joan) and Betty Starkey; and his siblings-in-law, Peggy Shaw (late Russell) and Thomas. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the James W. Cannan Funeral Home, Inc. (3155 Orchard Park Rd, Orchard Park, NY 14127). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Queen of Heaven Church (4220 Seneca St, West Seneca, NY 14224).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14225.
