He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry E. and Helen T.. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his brother Gerald; his children, Richard Burdzy Jr. (Kathy), Michael Burdzy (Joy), John Kwietniewski (Mary), Edward Kwietniewski (Alicia), Anthony Kwietniewski (Kathryn) and Judy Spira (Peter); and his grandchildren, Megan, Zachary, Eddie, Anna (Andrew), Judy Anne, Christina and Peter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
