He was predeceased by: his siblings, Pat Koons and Louis "Butch". He is survived by: his wife Sharon W.; his children, Rick and Tracy; his stepchildren, Parnell Woodard (Renee) and Terri Tennant (Jason); his grandchildren, Connor, Tyler and Sienna; and his siblings, Barb VanDick (late Norm), Robert (late Gail) and David (Sue). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
