She was predeceased by: her child Gayle Lentz (Lawrence); and her brother Gary Washburn (Lynn). She is survived by: her son Keith Zimmerman (Michelle); her granddaughter Iona Lentz; and her sister Joyce McLaughlin (late Jim).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Western New York Chapter or the American Cancer Society.
