The memory of Doreen A. Rizzo of West Sayville, New York, born in Queens, New York, who passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 87, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though Doreen may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Doreen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gerard. She is survived by: her children, Jerry (Lisa) and Melissa Shore (Tom Gundermann); her grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kristen and Catherine; her son-in-law Tim; and her sister Alice Brodmerkel of West Sayvilleand. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Homes (245 Main St, West Sayville, NY 11796). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Rood Cemetery (111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590).
