She was predeceased by: her parents, Gudmund Gatland and Olga Gatland; her husband Ernst Thorvaldsen; her sister Shirley Gatland; her children-in-law, Mary Ann and David; and her grandchildren, Meagan and Bryan.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Thorvaldsen (Marianne), Karen Hall (David), Kirk Thorvaldsen (Cathy), Guy Thorvaldsen (Mary Paulauskis), Mark Thorvaldsen (Anita) and Jeanne Thorvaldsen (Ken Wyman); her grandchildren, Shea, Kara, Karsten, Soren, Bjorn, Anna Britt, Kristin, Ryan, Daniel T., Keryn, Ashley, Daniel H., ErynDae, Joey, Katie, Jesse and Gabe; and her great grandchildren, Eamon, Ingrid, Colin, Kate, Jack, Mava, Audra, Callum, Addison, Ella, Avery, Isabelle, Hollis, Mallory, Andie, Luisa and Nina. She is also survived by friends, children.
