He was predeceased by: his parents, Elnora Benedict (Griggs) and Olin L. Benedict Sr. of Middletown; his sister Gail Kinsella; his father-in-law Frederick Ploutz Sr.; and his sister-in-law Angela Craven.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Benedict (Ploutz); and his children, Alli Benedict, Olin L. Benedict III (Nicole Toia) of Schenectady, Jennifer Benedict (Alan Greiwe) of Texas and Amy Vertanen (Joel). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
