He was predeceased by: his parents, William Maher and Molly Maher (Nee Chrichton); his brother William Maher; his sister-in-law Betty Maher; and his siblings, Thomas Maher and Mary Lou Schermerhorn.

He is survived by: his wife Marie (Chi-Chi); his sister-in-law Marylin Maher; his nephews, James Maher and William Maher; his niece Shirley Henion; his children, William and Theresa Ann Walsh; and his friends, Dennis Torregrossa of Haverstraw and Andy Anderson of Florida. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
